4 little ways to have a BIG impact on your kids’ faith

What’s the most influential factor in a child’s faith walk? Parents. Wow! That’s intimidating, isn’t it? It doesn’t have to be. Try out some of these simple ideas to make faith concepts come alive in the busyness of your family’s life.

  1. Prayer spot. Turn an ordinary spot into something special! Pick something you drive by regularly and have your kids call out, “prayer spot!” every time you pass it. When they do, have them pray -- for the day, for a person, just to tell God thanks.

  2. Driving devotionals. Not everyone can find a peaceful space or quiet time in their house...when everyone is awake. So, how do you do devotional time?. Have someone read a devotion on the drive to school. Got little kids? Let an app do the reading! Got older kids? Empower them to lead a family devotion on any Bible story they want!

  3. Serve together. Find an opportunity to serve at church or in the community that works for your whole family! On the way, list as many ways that Jesus served others as you can think of. Remind your kids you are following his example!

  4. Talk about it. The simplest and most important thing we can do to strengthen our kids’ faith is to talk about it! When you see your child act like Jesus, tell them! “Wow, I love the way you ____! I think that’s what Jesus would have done, too!” Labeling behaviors that resemble scriptural truth helps our kids see how God is using them right now!

Don’t give up! “So, my dear brothers and sisters (or Parents), be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.”
